How To Make A Dream Book
Have you ever been to a doctor and have been asked the question, "How have you been sleeping lately"?
Or, have you woken up in a cold sweat, wondering why the heck you even woke up to begin with, and what's
with all this sweat...furthermore, gimme a blanket I'm freezing!? Perhaps, like me, you have sleeping disorders.
You either talk in your sleep, are very physically active while sleeping.
You walk in your sleep or maybe have night terrors? Other times, perhaps, you just wake up laughing hysterically,
and don't' know why...but remember a little bit from this really odd dream you just had? These reasons,
and many more, are just part of why it's a good idea to keep a 'Dream Book'.
You can buy dream books in book stores, on line or even at local department stores.
While some of these are very nice, they're not really too 'personalized'. It's just as easy to make your own,
and give it your special personal touch. You can make the Dream Book out of any type of supplies you can think of,
including scrap books. Here's how:
1. Get a blank book (lined or not, it's your choice). You book can be anything you want it to be, so
long as there are large areas for you to write in.
Understanding your dreams is not always necessary. So when you write down things in your dream book,
don't worry if it doesn't make any sense to you. The important thing is to write down everything that
you can remember from your dream. This also allows you to go back and read what you wrote about to see
if there are any connections, or if something odd that you wrote triggers the full recollection of that dream.
For example: One morning when I woke up, all I had in mind was a pink cat. So, in my dream book, all I wrote was "Pink cat".
The color pink was not a bright pink, but a very pale pink. So, as a side note I wrote "pale pink". The cat looked like
one of those short haired all white cats. So as another side note I wrote, "short haired white base cat". It wasn't until
a week later that I realized that it wasn't the pink cat, in and of itself, that was important, but rather the
symbology behind this particular cat :)
Even if you only have one word to write on a page.... That's ok. Leave that page blank,
with the date on the top of the page, writing only that one word (if that's all you can remember
from your dreams that night). It might just be that later on you will be able to add more to that page :)
