We came to this country, not because we had to, but because we wanted to. Not because we were strong, but because we were weak. Not because any one of us had any demands upon the country that we founded, but because each of us stood daily in need of the freedom and the will that we so desperately needed.

We established this nation out of the need for independence. There was nothing that could've prepared our forefather's for what this nation is like today. Not any one of them had such a vision in their minds of the greatness which our nation has come to stand for. Not one of them imagined that we would become such a melding pot for all of the world, and would rise to such heights that all of the world calls upon us in both times of need, and times of good tidings.

Never before in the history of any nation has any one piece of land become so intensely diverse, in such a short period of time, that it holds far more riches and wealth than any other place on this planet, and for only one reason......it's people. That's right, 'we the people'. We ordered to form a more perfect union. And we did. We vowed to establish joy and pure tranquility. And we did. We promised to defend the welfare of our future generations. And we did, and still are. We agreed to put into context the vast rights and liberties that no other nation carries for its people.......ones that are now taken for granted and utilized on a daily basis....proudly.

We chose to go to the moon...."not because it is easy, but because it is hard..." (JFK,Sr.). We chose for "The buck to stop here", to 'never leave home without it' and to 'just do it'........and it does, we don't and we do. We defended our nation's peoples through hell and high water.....and we still are. We built up research systems that are beyond compare with the rest of the planet. Not because we could, but because we have that responsibility. "Now is the time to come to the aide of our country"...... and we did.....and we will.

We have built up the world's leading judicial system. The world's leading political system. One of the world's leading scientific systems, medical systems, commerce systems, financial systems......we are a country of great wealth and diversity. Our wealth, however, falls not upon the masses of concrete and steel, nor upon the beams of the mines, or upon the grounds that bear the food that we eat........but rather, our true wealth, falls upon the heads of every single person living in these United States of America.

It is up to each of us to make our nation more secure, happier, safer for our children. It is up to each of us to go forth and bear witness to the greatness for which this nation stands for, 'by any means necessary'. It is time for us to add more fuel to that burning torch that lights the way into our nation....so that our future generations might also have the joy of experiencing all that this nation has to offer.

Our nation is not without fault. No nation is. Our nation is not without poverty. No nation is. Our nation is not without problems, hatred, racism and rioting. No nation is. However, it is because of the means by which our nation chooses to handle its problems that almost all of them can be overcome and/or resolved.

So to those of you who hate this nation, I can only offer you a welcome mat, for once you step upon this national soil, and find your way through the labyrinth of diversity that this nation has to offer, you too will enjoy the nation for what it really and truly is. To those of you who love this nation, I can only offer you this further point: The skies are spacious and beautiful. The grains of amber still wave in the soft winds. The mountains still glow that glorious purple, and are still as majestic as ever before.....and grace will always be upon this nation, for it is this nation that was founded by citizens wanting independence.....and they got it.

May there always be a light shining upon the portals to our little corner of the planet we call home.
