Just one more step....the once brilliant orb above was no longer visible as the clouds began lowering towards the horizon.
Just one more step....finally. The heavy old arched wooden doors were finally open. Upon entering, the discinct aroma of musty
wood and mildewed cloth permiated the air within the old building. As the spirit stood in the dark entryway, an unknown voice
rang out in a deep ominous tone, "You're late".
Turning to peer into the dark corner from whence the voice came, the spirit saw nothing. In turning back, there suddenly shown a bright hovering beam wavering ever so gently above what appeared to be an old delapitated shelf of sorts.
As the spirit walked further into this building, it was clear that this soul had entered an old library. The seats still had the imprints of those who had studied there lo those many years ago.
An old dust-laiden Bible rested peacefully, undistrubed, on the corner rest of one of the podiums. The chandelabra had become home to some of the most elaborate webworking the spirit had ever seen.
With nothing to sustain life, the residents of these webs had long ago abandoned their homes, leaving only the lacey trims behind.
A brisk waft of warmth softly passed by this soul, and the scent of fresh oils could now be noticed within the surrounding atmosphere. Like the sun reflecting off an old hand mirror, a shot of light caught the attention of this spirit from the very front of this old library.
Curious, the soul began to proceed forward to investigate this now intense reflective beam. As the shelf grew closer and closer,
colors began to show.
The blue hues from the old frayed tapestries and the reds from the now flattened velvet seat dressing and the golden waves
of light that bounced off the tarnished sconces which rested dormant atop the images they once graced...all were now seen and
danced about the entirety of the library.
Just one more step...once again, the heavens opened up and the lightning cracked. Thunder clapped so forcibly that the glass that
was left in the windows shook and trembled as if in fear of the sky itself.
Just one more step...and again the winds swept through the cracks of the walls as if there were no walls to stop the bellows at
all.
Just one more step...the library doors flew open as a tidal wave of rain drove itself through the solid wood and iron branded
slats. As if warning the spirit to go no further, the fury became almost too much for the soul to bear.
However, the reflective beam from what lay on the shelf still shown brightly. Spirit knew it was to be seen.
As the soul's hand reached out to inspect what this beam was emitting from, enormous cracks of lightning flowed through the entire library, filling each corner with sparkles of ionized powerful light forces.
The hand reached out only to be almost magnetically drawn to this object. Finally...the spirit knew.
The feeling was all too familiar. The weight of the object was perfect, and the movement of it was at one with the spirit. For this was the spirits blade from many lives before.
It lay, just as the spirit had left it. The markings upon the edges were those of the spirits anscetry. The heraldry that flowed through the spirit as blood flowed through veins. This was the spirits life blade.
It was time to wield it once again....
