Making A Farm No, this isn't how to make an ant farm, or a funny farm,
or even a cow farm. This is how to actually recycle certain fruits and vegetables, so you can build your very own farm,
just like the Native American Indians used to (and it's incredibly easy!).
Step 1 - Get seeds. These can be obtained from ANY fruit or vegetable that has seeds. Apples, Oranges, Limes, Lemons,
Grapefruit, Strawberries, Peppers, Tomatoes...etc.
Step 2 - After removing the seeds from your chosen food, make sure they are clean and put in a spot to dry out.
Seeds will need to completely dry out for at least 6 months prior to being planted. (I place mine in small plastic
containers with the lids kept off for good air circulation)
Step 3 - While you're waiting for seeds to dry out, decide if you want to use starter planter pots, or till up a small
'test' garden in your yard (this will save you a lot of time in the future)
Step 4 - Once seeds are ready to be planted, simply plant them as you would any other type of store bought seeds.
You can look up on line to see which plants need special soil (like peppers and tomatoes), and which ones are trees
(like lemon, lime, apple...etc), and which ones are vines (like tomato)...and if they need any type of special food
and what type of sunlight they prefer (if any).
Step 5 - Watch them grow and reap the benefits! :)
PS: This is also a good time to put that home made compost and your cardboard egg cartons to good use :)
