Paper Towel Rolls

How many times do we use up a roll of paper towels, and then throw the cardboard roll it came on in the trash? Quite often. Most of the time, if not all of the time. Unless there is an excessive amount of glue or clump of ripped towel still left on the roll, these little rolls can come in quite handy. Below are some uses for cardboard paper towel rolls:

1. Roll up smaller kids' drawings and place them inside the roll to tuck them away as keepsakes. You can use a marker to write the child's name, date and age on the outside.
2. Use them to store smaller lengths of various cords. You can use a marker to write the length and type of cord on the outside of the roll.
3. Use them as candle storage rolls. Make sure the candles are wrapped in a layer of wax paper prior to storing them in the paper towel roll. You can use a marker to write the color and type of candle on the outside of the roll. (i.e.: blue/taper, white/pillar...etc.)
4. Keep one in the trunk of your car for holding plastic grocery bags. These bags will stuff easily into the ends of the cardboard roll, and help keep them from flying all over the place when you open and close your trunk. This comes in very handy if you drive a lot or go on trips.
5. If you have to move to a new home, these cardboard rolls come in ultra handy as both packing material (to buffer items from being accidentally dented/scratched/cracked/broken when boxes are set down quickly), and storage material.
6. If you knit or crochet, and generally end up with smaller bits of yarn lengths when you're done with a project, you can wind them up and place them in these rolls. Again, you can use a marker to note the contents on the outside of the roll.
There are many other handy uses for these particular cardboard creations. It's up to you to use your imagination and figure out what uses might suit your needs. :)
