COLORS IN DREAMS

RED:
The color most often associated with vitality, passion, anger and excess. Red wine would be a symbol of excess, whereas blood would be a symbol of anger. When Level 3 and 4 dreams are reached however, the color Red becomes symbolic of the Greek God Dionysos, the god of 'Divine Ecstasy'. As in divine happiness, not sexuality. Red flowers often symbolize love, whereas dead red flowers symbolize ire and hate.

ORANGE:
The color of fertility, hope, new beginnings and the dawning of spirituality. Dreaming of Orange things, or the color orange itself, symbolizes the onset of something new entering into your life. If people are orange, it means new people will enter your life. If animals are orange, it means a new pet might be arriving soon. Orange symbols always mean things that are 'new'.

YELLOW:
In China, Yellow was sacred to the Emperor, and this this color within dreams symbolizes both power and wisdom. It can also represent humility though, thinking back to the Saffrom robes of the Buddhist Monks. It also reminds us of the importance of servance. Yellow is also the color of betrayal, and can also represent an unknown life force, although this symbolic meaning only occurs in higher levels of dreaming.

GREEN:
It also represents nature. The elements and forces of regeneration which bring forth new life from the death of the old. Seeing green can mean that a new child will soon be born into the family, or that there is a need for you to get back to nature. Obviously, seeing this color can have a broad varient in its direct interpretation. Be very aware of this color, and when you see it in your dream, try to jot it down in your dream journal.

BLUE:
This is typically a high spiritual color within our dreams, suggesting the infinity of the skies and of space, time and matter. In other words, 'Heaven'. In fact, the robe worn by the Mother Mary was also blue, and thus this color also represents the need to become closer to the more spiritual side of your life. Blue is also the color of the ocean, and like the sky, it means spirituality and heaven.

PURPLE:
The highest color of royalty, and the most brilliant color of nature. Blossoming flowers, brightly colored robes, jewels. Purple is the symbol for the highest level of both the material and the spiritual realm. Purple is also a color with varied meanings, depending on the level of the dream. In higher levels, it means only higher spiritualty. Lower level dreams are items themselves. Purple 'things'.

PINK:
The softer tones of Red, symbolizing love and happiness within your life, or representing a loved one within a dream. Pink is also a soothing color, seen as a symbol of rest and relaxation. Pink in dreams means just this...rest, relax, enjoy, love, laugh and be happy. Never does Pink mean anything negative, not even remotely. Pink is also not a color seen too often in dreams of adults. More often than not, children dream of the color Pink.

WHITE:
This is the color of snow, and also represents purity and cleansing. White, in a dream, also might be seen as an omen of a forth-coming marraige, or possibly a christening or baptism. White also ranges in tones and hues, from bone white, to pebble white, to snow white, to ivory and back again. Keeping a note of the type of white seen in your dream is also important. The more aged the white, the farther away from the realm of purity it is.

BROWN:
Representing the color of the Earth itself, and often seen in nature dreams or dreams of things made of wood. Brown is more often seen in dreams during the REM Level of sleep, however why this is, is yet unknown to scientists. Brown also means health, as a good color of brown in wood means that the tree is healthy and not diseased or old. Since Brown is not a color often seen in dreams, jotting this color down will help you to remember it.

BLACK:
This color is the color of the night, the hidden....and the unknown. This is probably one of the most fearful colors dreamt about because it does represent the unknown. Things of the Underworld, darkness of the night, fear and dread. However, Black also represents the absorptions of negativities within your life. However, this type of symbology is rare within the lower realms of dreaming.
