DREAMING
The metaphoric and symbolic content of dreams is something people have been trying to figure out since the days of the ancients. So far, there has been great progress in our interpretations of the dreams. However, many of the interpretations have not truly changed since the days of Atlantis. The color White, for example has always been symbolic of 'purity', while Black has always been symbolic of 'darkness' and 'shadow'. The Laurel leaf has always meant nobility and victory, and was worn for many millennia by both kings and scholars, royals and athletes, and it is still the crowning symbol for the Olympics. Poems by the thousands have been written about dreams. Libraries and stores hold shelves upon shelves of books pertaining to dreams, their symbolic content, the psycho-analyitcal meanings behind whole or partitioned dreams. Shakespeare himself wrote an entire play on a dream, where he states, "...for this is the stuff from which dreams are made".

Because of the vast importance of dreams, and the many mysterious and wonderful ways they effect our waking lives, I have devised this entire 'branch off' section of The Celtic Path, just to delve into this particular realm. In the pages to follow you will learn about the many 'levels' of dreaming, the differences between these levels, and why dreams at higher levels are interpreted differently (sometimes far differently) than those within the lower levels. We will discuss how Out of Body Experiences often happen during the dreaming state, and why they begin at this stage. We will also discuss the more Shamanic type of dreaming, in which the entire mind, body and soul is transcended into a state of being that is almost indescribable to the average person (we're going to try to explain this phenomenon at least).
