LIGHT SCIENCES
We all know that light, in and of itself, is an actual form of energy. However, when you look at how light healings work, not
too many people take the time to really delve into the scientific reasons behind this. First, let's take a look at the colors
of the visible spectrum, and see which types of light have which types of effects on the human systems.
WHITE LIGHT
Generally used for cleansing and purification, is just that. It is a non-colored light, which is readily visible by
both the naked and the aided eye. There is no real trick to using this light. It is considered to be spiritual, and it is a
soothing light. Thus, white is a generalized, brilliant and all encompassing color of light.
GOLD LIGHT
Used to enhance the deeper portions of the realm of thought. Deeper understanding, and deeper meditative thoughts
and ideas. Gold is also a color that is seen as more of a metalic color, which is why it is also often used to enhance the
financial aspect of a person's life. Gold, representing the gold color of coins and jewelry. It doesn't work that way, it works
within the mind itself. Thus, the gold color of light can be used for general purposes to enhance a deeper concentration level
of the mind's thought process.

PURPLE LIGHT
More or less used to enhance a higher level of spiritual understanding and logic. As far as the body's auras go,
purple denotes the highest level of spiritual understanding and logical thought. Suffice to say, purple also represents the 'royal'
color of Christ....and is often used in the realms of organized religion to denote the priest's higher understanding, logic and
reasoning with higher realms of spirituality. Not so, as we've found out in many cases, but because the color purple is so
brilliant, it does bring out an aspect of a higher spiritual realm of logic and feelings.
GREEN LIGHT
Used to balance the energies within the human system. Green, being an earth tone, is used for balancing because green is one of
the primary colors that is reflected by human eye the most, and is also what we see around us on a daily basis. This is also why
green light is used most often in the fall and winter seasons, so that it can enhance the balancing point between the
gray/white/black tones of the winter, and the green/grassy tones of the summer. Green light is also often used in holistic
treatments for SADs.(Seasonal Affective Disorder)

BROWN LIGHT
Also an earth tone, is used for grounding. Not surprisingly, it is because the color of the ground is usually brown. Therefore,
the color brown is often used when there is much anxiety, chaos or upheaval within a person's life, and the brown colors of the
light (all tones of brown) create the idea within the person that grounding is necessary in order for that person to come to a
more logical train of thought and feeling. Brown is rarely used alone, and is most often used with either green, blue or white
lights.
ORANGE LIGHT
More or less the color of the Sun, is used for the calming of, or the spiritual renunciation of, over indulgence. The warmth of
the Sun makes us slower and 'lazy', more relaxed and calmer. take the heat of it away, and you've got a beautiful and inviting
light that fills the home. Thus, orange light is used to help soothe the soul (more or less) when it comes to the over indulgence
of material, monitary or destructive things within a person's life (yes, the spiritual realm is included here as well).

LAVENDER LIGHT
More often used to help a person understand their subconscious thoughts. Not like a normal purple light, lavender light brings
about a lesser degree of deep understanding, and helps to keep a person's thoughts on the subconscious level, which is most often
used for things like dream interpretations and the like.
PINK LIGHT
Fairly self explanitory, and represents the light of the emotion love. However, this light should be used with caution, and should
always be used in combination with other colors, and never used alone. it is used to enhance the attraction area of a person's life.
It helps the person to focus on the areas of his or her life that he or she would like to either attract, or be attracted to.
This is where the problems lie. Use pink light with great caution, and always use it 1 pink to 3 white candles.

RED LIGHT
Another one that is self-explanitory, yet often confusing. Yes, it is the color of passion and the color of vitality and physical
prowness. This can be a problem as well. If we go back and look at pink light, you will see that pink is also the color used for
love. Now, love and passion often go hand in hand. This is why I will say to never, ever, use pink and red lights together. It can
end up being a highly emotionally volitile combination for many people, especially those who are not married, recently divorced,
or who have just come out of, or have just entered into a relationship. Rule of thumb in using red light...1 red to 4 - 6 white
candles.
BLUE LIGHT
The "chill" effect. Calmness...contemplation....acuity. All these are very powerful aspects of blue light. However, blue light is
also the color of higher spirituality and astral understanding. To dream of the Ocean (a deeper color of blue) and not drown, or
have trouble in the ocean, is interpreted as the ability you have in bringing yourself to a level of higher understanding,
especially within the astral and metaphysical realm of living. Blue can also have a reverse effect, if the color of the blue light
is a deeper, more dark navy blue. If the light of that candle is almost near a black tone, use it sparingly. It will begin to not
absorb negative energies, but it will transpose them back into the spiritual realm. so when using blue light.....it is best to
stay within an indigo shade of blue.

YELLOW LIGHT
A meditative light, but has no real healing energies so to speak. There is no 'real' yellow light. It is either a lighter color of
gold, or a lighter color of orange, but never a true yellow. Therefore, when using a yellow light, go ahead and use all the yellows
you want. The effect will only be that you will have a better concentration level during your meditation. I personally prefer to
use a golden light over a yellow one, but it is purely personal preference.
SILVER LIGHT
Often used to help bring the subconscious thoughts to the conscious level. There is not any one specific area of thought however
that can be focussed on during the use of this light. So the only caution I give on using this light is to try and focus your mind
as to one or maybe two specific areas of your life that you might wish to have the subconscious brought forth. Otherwise, if it
is random, anything could pop through, including abstract dreams and odd astral travel rememberances.
BLACK LIGHT
The ultimate power in the light spectrum. It is the one light to be used with the utmost of caution, and the highest reverence.
It is a light that holds the ability to both absorb and dispel the negative energies around you. This is a good thing of course,
but the light itself needs to be used with tremendous caution, as the more black light that is used, the more it will dispel back
into the surrounding areas, than it will absorb. Only one small black light, surrounded by many large white lights is all that is
needed to properly absorb the negativities within your energy fields.
